Between 27–30 April 2026, the Sumipol Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTEC) conducted a hands-on training program for lecturers and representatives from the Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, under the project titled

“Advanced Professional Skills Development and Innovation Collaboration with the Private Sector in Smart Electronics and Artificial Intelligence to Support the Smart Electronics Industry, Phase 2.”

The training program focused on “Advanced Internet of Things (IoT) Development for Industrial Applications.” Its objectives were to enhance knowledge, expertise, and practical skills for educational personnel, while also strengthening capabilities in Lean Manufacturing integrated with modern digital technologies. This is intended to support the transition toward a highly efficient digital industrial system.

Throughout the 4-day program, participants engaged in intensive theoretical and practical learning covering key topics. In addition, participants also visited real industrial production facilities, including EV Motor and CVT Gear manufacturing processes, to gain first-hand experience in applying Digital Transformation (DX) within industrial operations. This provided deeper understanding and new perspectives on how advanced technologies can be applied in both education and manufacturing contexts.

This training program plays an important role in enhancing the capabilities of lecturers and educational personnel, enabling them to effectively transfer the acquired knowledge and experience to students. It also supports the development of a highly skilled workforce to meet the needs of future smart industries.
