On July 9, 2026, the Sumipol Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTEC) welcomed faculty members and visitors from the Embassy of France, ECAM LaSalle (France), and the Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, Sriracha Campus. The visit included a facility tour and a collaborative meeting to discuss academic and research cooperation in upgrading production systems with digital technology between the educational sectors of France and Thailand. This initiative aims to enhance education and modern manufacturing capabilities under the concept of applying digital technology to elevate the educational sectors of both nations.




During this visit, SIMTEC was honored to host the distinguished delegation from the French Embassy and ECAM LaSalle, France, accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natthaphon Chanthaphanit, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Sriracha. The group engaged in fruitful discussions and exchanged insights on curriculum development, research opportunities, and the establishment of collaborative networks between academic institutions and the industrial sector.


Furthermore, the executives and faculty members toured the institute’s learning spaces, laboratories, and advanced manufacturing technologies to exchange ideas on hands-on, practical education. The delegation showed particular interest in waste reduction processes and manufacturing efficiency optimization (Lean Management), which serves as a vital foundation for industrial development before systematically integrating digital technologies. This collaborative effort will enhance opportunities in education, research, and talent development, ensuring capabilities align sustainably with the future demands of the industrial sector.
